Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35
I’m a heavy runner looking for a good stability shoe and locked down on the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 34/35 as my favorite shoe of choice. It offers great stability for my feet and the motion control base is exactly what I need. I’ve had no trouble at all with this shoe and never suffered a foot related injury while wearing them. These are my go to shoes for training and racing and this is our Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 review.
I’ve have at least five pairs of these Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35s in my closet at the moment. I did the same with the Pegasus 34 model, having even bought two pairs at a time for over a year before the model expired. This model is my top choice because of it’s lightweight feel compared to many other motion control models.
The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 is built for runners at every level. It is a great initial sneaker choice for beginners, but also satisfies seasoned veterans. These shoes will function well for you whether you run 5 miles per week or 50. Its durable design and build will hold up to the elements, the terrain and your training schedule successfully.

The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 Facts:
The Nike Pegasus shoe debuted in 1983, as their first offering in a dedicated line of very successful running shoes. Similarly, this is also the year when Nike started making their clothing line, which has exploded over the past decade. I’m a big fan of the Air Pegasus line, having started wearing them back in the late 90’s. I’ve mainly worn the Air Pegasus 34s for the past few years until recently upgrading to the newer 35 model.
In this review I’ll cover what I think the important upgrades are in the model 35 version, as well as some key differentiators. After that, I’ll give my opinion of whether or not I think it is worth the money to upgrade to this new release.
Nike has revealed that they got a lot of input from professional athletes and runners on upgrading this model. The most notable contributor on this effort was none other than Mo Farah. Mo is one of Great Britain’s most successful long-distance runners, having won double Gold Medals (1500M/10000M) at the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 Changes:
The first major change in the 35 model is in the heel design, which now rises up to taper away from the Achilles section of your foot. This new design increases the level of comfort but also allows some padding to come up the back of the ankle, creating a lock-down of the heel into your shoe. Because of this, I was skeptical at first sight, thinking the my foot might move around quite a bit, however, that was not the case at all.
The Air Pegasus 34(and prior) shoes had two separate “air” bags in the sole. The first bag was placed under the forefoot and the second one under the heel. Now with the Air Pegasus 35 model there is only one single continuous airbag which stretches from the heel area all the way up to the forefront. This singular solution provides just enough added cushioning to the shoe and feels wonderful. It really helps with the forward motion transition of your stride and makes for a much smoother turnover with each step. This is a great upgrade!!!!
Nike has moved the bottom shoelace eyelet up just a very little bit which would seem very insignificant. However, this is a huge change from my experience as it provides additional space and comfort in the toe box area of the shoe. Additionally, this minor change adds a lot more flexibility to the front end of the shoe. This “minor” change is very big indeed, in my opinion.
In Conclusion, I am a big fan of the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35s, and recommend that they are worthy of the extra price involved in upgrading to them. The going price range of this shoe is certainly within reason and comparable to other brands in this shoe category. The changes above, when combined are a very powerful combination of upgrade.
